Hi Mookie,

There was a quote as part of the NICE guidelines publicity to say that after 3 IVF attempts only around 50% of people would be successful.

Alan Templeton, chairman of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said that the Government's implementation of the guidelines is 'sentencing [couples] to having a much reduced chance of having a baby'. The likelihood of a successful birth in a single cycle of IVF are put at around 25 per cent for women under 35, but this rises to about 50 per cent with three cycles.

I would like to see any published research if anyone has some as it would be interesting to see the actual figures and how they were determined.

What we won't see from this poll are the people who had to give up IVF as they could not afford to keep trying. Also the people who emotionally could not carry on. I think that would take a different poll though and many people would have left FF so it would be hard to do.

With love from,
