I would say there is nothing to worry about with the HSG Xray - it was one of the first tests I had and whilst its a bit embarrasing it was only slightly more uncomfortable than a smear - mainly as it lasts a bit longer and they take photographs. You should be fine - hope it goes ok
I had a HSG a couple of years ago in the Xray dept of my local hospital. The procedure was a bit like having a smear test where they inserted a speculum. A small cetheter was then placed into my cervix & a dye injected to check for blockages etc. In my case it was for fibroids. It was a bit uncomfortable when they injected the dye..it felt a bit like cramp. The procedure was over within 10 minutes & I was given a sanitory pad to wear because the dye came back out pretty quickly once I was on my feet again. I had a paracetamol to help relieve the pain.
Hope this helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
The procedure is not so bad. It's best to take paracetamol or other pain killer prior to this. When they inject dye you may experience a bit of cramping (paracetamol should help). It's quite quick and you'll be fine afterwords. Don't be nervous. I wish you best of luck. Let's hope all is OK.
