Hi ya

Well I started stimming tonight for ICSI#2... Last cycle I used the very straight forward Gonal F but this time I am on Menopur... I was shown how to use the mixing needle, the vials and water ect.. But I have just done my first and every time I went to draw the fluid from the vails I had a vacum. Like it wanted to pull the liquid back into the vial... Which made it hard work... Of coruse I was panicing thinking its not going right.. But finally after stabbing my finger with the huge mixing needle, did it.

So how do I not get a 'vacum' from the vial? Any help would be great!

Thanks Natalie xxxx

Hi there is two things you can do hun.

1. Inject and equal amount of air into the vial that you want to get out.
2. poke another needle into the bung (with no syringe attached) then use the needle in the normal way (this should equalise the pressure)

Ignore number one as that only applys when you are withdrawing not adding liquid doh!!!

I remember having that problem.

I went with answer 2 in the end  ;). It stopped happening though as I got better at doing it although I never really knew what I was doing differently.

Good luck  ^reiki^ ^reiki^
