Hello,

This will probably sound a bit of a silly question but I have got 900i.u. gonal-f injector pens, I am on 300i.u a day, but when I did my last shot of the pen, there is still 75i.u. in there?? Are they just trying to CONFUSE US??
Of course it has worried me in case I have not had all of the dose, so can any other gonal-f injectors please put my mind at rest! Or have I done something wrong? If this is normal why on earth don't they put 975i.u. on there!!!!!!

Thanks for helping a confused mad person

Hi Kelly

I am not a nurse but they always put a contingency amount on these drugs so that they allow for the bit that gets caught in the hole bit before the needle and to allow for any extra priming that may occur etc. On the puregon pen it actually tells you about the extra bit but doesn't on the Gonal-F one so I am doing it by memory.

Hope this makes some sense
