Dear All

We came out here Dec 2003 and had our first ICSI here in 2004, I fell pregnant but misscarried at 10 weeks, but at least we got that far.

We just found the whole experience so much better than the UK (our opinon).  I started treatment again on monday 15th Nov, Suprefact Inj in the morning and on the Tuesday I started Merional Injec as well, egg collection next week, quick eh!

I found I was in alot of pain in the uk after egg collection, but over here I have had no pain.  We even got to see the embyos under the microscope before the were implanted, it was facinating.  All ivf patients are told to stay in bed for 2 weeks and not do anything they are very strict where the mother and baby are concerned.  When you have a positive result there are follow up injections to support the embryo and 2 weekly scans to ensure everything is ok.

I recommemd our doctor.  Dr Michalis Chrysostomou, Obsterician & Gynaecologist - Surgen, Fertility Specialist

Evangelismos Private Hospital, Paphos

If you have any other question my email: [email protected]

Our treatment has been excellent, we do  have faith in our doctor as he comes highly recommended.

Total costs including scans, blood tests, drugs roughly CYP2900.00, this time round weve asked for a discount.

Hello Katrina,
Great to hear you sounding so positive.  Well done for getting this far !  A quick query .... what does the amount you quoted for treatment translate to in pounds sterling ??
Good luck with your next attempt.

Hi

Are there league tables for European/ US clinics- with their success rates? How is it possible to compare clinics etc... Any idea what the 'top clinics' in Europe are for ICSI

- Does anyone know if Dr Zavos has a clinic set up yet in Cyprus

- Katrina - do you know what the live baby rate for treatment at the clinic is for ICSI?Im 33 years old....Do they do egg collection and embryo transfer under gen ans if one requests it.

Thanks Deborah

THanks for posting we communicated via pm aver this. Good luck in your next cycle. I found the clinic I used in Cyprus very nice much less agesist (in fact not at all) than London clinics and they will offer modern aggressive treatment in a calm style!

Best of luck

Hi I am currently living in Cyprus and use a clinic called AKESO in Nicosia.  They also have a site in Limassol.  The website address is cfc.com.cy.

The staff there are fantastic, very helpful and friendly.  For my et and ec the cost was CY£1,260 which equates to about £1,500.  I do not have to pay for any of my medication though so I dont know how much extra that would be.

Unfortunately my treatment was unsuccessful but I will be starting again in April and am happy to stick with the same clinic and dr's.

Hi,

Just to add to Kerry's post, I am also using the AKESO clinic in Cyprus (Limassol branch). I also found the staff and Dr Pelekanos the embriologist very, very good.

ICSI treatment cost me CY£1,500, medication was CY£470 (Suprefact, Merional, Pregnyl, Cyclogest, Medrol steroids), and blood tests and scans were CY£210. Total CY£2,180 which is approx £2,600 sterling.

My Merional dose was quite high as I am a poor responder, so medication costs could be less for those on normal dose.

Hi,

I am planning to have another try at IVF.  You said the treatment cost in total 2600.00 sterling how much is accommodation out there or is it included?

Sorry for so many questions.  Are the success rates good?  How long do you have to stay out there? What is included.

I am 41 and only had 1 egg that was viable for et feeling desperate.

Thanks

HI girls,

My friend is thinking of having treatment in Cyprus as he required PGD - due to thalassimia.. but due to work commitments, she is unable to have too much time off. Is she able to have the monitoring done in the UK and go to Cyprus for EC and ET ?

Thanks
