Hi all

This is probably a question that's been posed loads of times - sorry!

Am just a little anxious. We're doing our meds independently of hospital with a private prescription from the GP. The hospital seem to use Ovitrelle and my prescription has arrive for Pregnyl. Is there any difference? Is one better than the other or does the hospital simply go with the pharmaceutical company it is contracted to?

Lilac, I was given Ovitrelle on my first IVF cycle and Pregnyl on my second!

I think the Ovitrelle is synthetic and Pregnyl is natural HCG made from pregnant women's urine. My last consultant changed to pregnyl for our second cycle because he thought natural was better But at the end of the day they both do the same thing! With Pregnyl you have to turn into a chemist and mix it!

All I know is pregnyl bloomin' hurts!!! 

And yes, I was told it's made from nun's wee too!
