On my last (1st full) cycle of IVF, I had EC on a Friday and ET on the Monday.  We found out on the Monday, just before ET, that 3 of our 5 embryos hadn't survived/developed further.  The clinic actually closes over the w/end and I'm wondering if it would have made a difference, had I have been able to have ET on the Sunday?  And if the clinic was open at the w/end, if this what is likely to have happened, or is it  that ET can be 2 or 3 days after anyway, depending on the embryos?

Hi BH

I have had EC on a friday and ET on the monday. A lot of people have 3 day transfers and some clinics let them go to Blastocycst stage which i believe is 5 or more days. Its not unusual. I do think that if they dont survive in the lab then they wouldnt carry on if they had been transferred earlier.
I am sorry this happened to you and wish you lots of luck for next time.

Thanks alot for your response.  I wasn't sure if it might have been a causal factor but good to know that it's not unusual to have a 3 day transfer. I won't worry if it happens again and try and stay calm...!
