Eddie - Welcome :)

Misty - So sorry to read your cycle was abandoned ^hugme^ I used Puregon to stimulate on my DIUI cycles. Had that along with Buserelin to down reg (used whilst stimming though, as opposed to beforehand like in IVF). I got on well with Puregon and produced 2 follies each cycle - one on each ovary. It's a gonal f stimulator and is one step up from clomid really. It's not cheap mind :-\ but obviously worth it for a BFP. Hope it works for you ^reiki^ ^reiki^

Hello to everyone else. Sorry for the lack of personals, but it's late and I'm off on my holibobs tomorrow (today!) :)

Misty - will you be starting your injections (new cycle) in about 2 weeks or so? I should be starting the 1st cycle about this time next week which will be day 1. Can't wait to be in the 'cycling' catergory at last! I'm getting quite nervous that the drugs won't work, as Clomid never did - I'm sure it will pass!

As for the fortune teller - wow - wouldn't that be great! I would love twins too, even though it would be quite stressful! The weird thing is, ever since I was a kid I always said i'd have 2 twin boys and a girl!! Very odd! I do have 2 male and 1 female dogs, so maybe thats it! :)

Hi to everyone else - hope the weather isn't as pants as it is down here!! I suppose I have no excuse to get some housework done!  ;D

Hi everyone.

Nice weather in Kent but can't seem to get myself going today, still very tired following the BFN.

Did go to France on Friday to buy lots of wine and goodies which was a good trip, was nice to get away.

Misty - sorry to hear about your abandoned cycle, good luck for the next one which thankfully is not too far away.  ^reiki^.

Edie and Mable - not too long now. GOOD LUCK!!!

Tamsin - sorry to hear that your cycle did not go ahead. It is so difficult to make travel plans when you can't predict what will happen, Jo and I are planning a San Francisco/LA/Las Vegas trip next year and are already thinking can't book till the last minute just in case. If you stay anywhere especially lesbian-friendly let us know. ^holiday^. I feel like Jo that my polycystic ovaries were helped along by the clomid, but were there beforehand anyway. But who knows? I took clomid on and off for 12 months which is the max, don't regret it. I kind of figured that at nearly forty (am I?!!!!!!) many women have some ovary-gynae thing going on so was not too worried.

Eddie - good luck with your cycle. And Sarah too - you are finally  ^excercise3^.

Good luck to everyone - there are lots of you starting or about to start  ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^reiki^.

Kerry and Helen - hope you are well and enjoying the pregnancy.

Hi Jules - how you doing?

Love

Heather

Misty so sorry to hear that your cycle had to be abandoned part way through ^eyes^. I hope that you're feeling a bit better about it, although it is really disappointing isn't it, when you're all geared up mentally? Thinning of the uterine lining is a really common side effect on Clomid, so you shouldn't feel inadequate at all. On my first try at Clomid last month I also only produced follies on one side (the RH side which I was due to ovulate on naturally, as the previous cycle I ovulated from LHS). However, I've ended up with cysts on both sids, so I don't know what has gone on since! By the way, I know that in the US there is another orally taken drug called Femara which is similar to Clomid, but doesn't cause uterine thinning. I've no idea whether or not it's prescribed over here, but it would be worth asking your clinic about. Don't know anything about Puregon myself (yet!).

Heather & Jo - I hope that you two are doing OK. The failure of the IVF cycle has obviously hit you both really hard. ^Cuddle^
As far as Las Vegas is concerned, we're staying at the Venetian - going for luxury/kitsch rather than specifically lesbian friendly ;D

Sarah I hope that the next few days don't drag on for too long, so that you can get started for real.

Sorry, can't really remember any other news from the old thread! I'm still feeling in limbo. Just got to wait this cycle out, but am decidedly lacking in enthusiasm. I know that I could give myself the month off completely (i.e no temping/OPKs etc. but I can't quite bring myself to do that). My body is most definitely no longer an alcohol-free zone though ^drink^
We're still waiting re: the house as well, so it feels like life generally is on hold. We're hoping that we are finally going to exchange in the next couple of days, so keep your fingers crossed for us! I hate having so little control over my life :(

Good luck to everyone that is trying at the moment/about to start ^fairydust^

Hey everyone!

It was my first day of new job today, all looking good so far.  :)  Why is it so tiring though, I am exhausted & have really not done anything!  ::)

Also I have still to do the whole coming out to work colleague thing, I have made a good start by mentioning my 'partner' at a few key moments & the photo of her I put on my desk might help!  ;D

Also booked the day off when we are going to see consultant, it is in July but it suddenly seemed very close today & I can't seem to think about what to do for more than 2 mins at a time!    ^eyes^  Will probably put off too much deciding attempts until at least next week, give myself chance to get a bit into new work 1st.

Misty - Sorry to hear about your abandoned cycle, it is a shame things did not go your way this time.  Will send  ^reiki^ for the next go.

Jayne - Enjoy Hols.  Somewhere nice?  ^holiday^

Eddie & Sarah - Good luck with  ^excercise3^  ^fairydust^  ^reiki^

Kerry & Helen - Hope you are doing well & looking after the bump.  :)

Jules - Not seen you posting for a while, hope you are ok?  ^reiki^

Tamsin - Luxury Las Vegas sounds like fun, will you be in a Casino too?  ^holiday^  Enjoy your chance for some alcohol while you can!  Fingers x for the house move too.  It is very hard to cope when it isn't possible to control what happens, you are doing all the right things to keep yourself sane.  ^reiki^

Love & luck all round,
Jo

:) Hello everyone!

I am coming to the end of my noethisterone tablets now, so af due probably friday ish! However - I have heard rumours that our company has scheduled a 2 day, 2 night meeting which will be slap bang on my day 12 - the day of my scan! What shall I do? I know its only a rumour that the meeting is then, but I have a feeling it will be - they have a habit of scheduling things last minute! I was contemplating putting this month on hold cycle-wise, but have decided that concieving is far more important! Its a new job though, so I can't really tell them I can't go to the meeting - can I?? Sorry - just stressing! I'm also worried about being away incase my ovaries explode!

Another query - if I start bleeding at 10am - is that day 1? What about 9pm? Does it have to be the 1st full day of bleeding? Sorry - this is all a bit new and scary!

Jo - glad the new job is going well! I'm sure your work colleagues will soon get the hint!!  :)

Tamsin - hope the house thing sorts itself out soon. It is very stressful not being in contol, but hopefully not long to go now.

Heather - sounds like you had a good weekend - tripping over to France etc sounds great! We are booked to go for a week to Majorca in the summer, but we both dont want to go now! I'd rather save for ttc!!

Hope someone can help with my naff questions!

Thanks girls!  ;D

Sarah my advice to you is not to let your work get in the way, I've wasted a lot of energy  on that whilst I have been ttc and it was never worth it, no meeting cannot survive without you!!!!

There is always a sickie!!  ^doc^ (doctors orders).

Have you considered being open with someone in your work? That really helped me. But I know that some workplaces/managers are more understanding than others.

Good luck!!!

Thanks Heather - have decided that ttc is far more important!  :)

I think af should be on her way very soon - hoorah - I can't believe that in about a month (if the drugs work!) that I could be using a pregnancy testing kit! Am very excited!

Still waiting to pick up the puregon from the chemist - got the hgc vials - didn't come with anything - just 3 vials of solution and powder! They were really useless in helping me - I suppose the clinic will sort me out with a sharps bin/injector unit etc?! I feel so clueless!!  ???

At least the weather is looking up this week!
Where's everyone else? Quiet on here lately!

Hi Sarah

TTC is def more important.  I would mention to them that you have a appt with a specialist for some tests etc booked and are maybe on the cancelled appt list and therefore the appt could fall on the same day(s) as the meeting.  That way you are covered in case your scan date is different.  Although sometimes being honest can makes things less stressful and that way you can sneak out for other scans etc, bloods.

You class day 1 when its a proper bleed, i dont spot like some do so the day i get my period is always day 1 for me, but if you spot for a day before hand then class the full flow as day 1.

Good luck honey!

Hi everyone!

Well have survived 5 days of clomid and apart from severe night time tropical momments seem to be ok, feeling abit anxious today dont know if thats common with clomid or anything to do with the houseful of men I've had for the last 3 days fitting my central heating. So far they have blown my electrics and left me with a gas leak and I still dont have any hot water!!!

Role on that ripe egg!!

Hi all!

Fingers crossed - af still hasn't arrived! I am SO hoping my cycle will start on saturday at the earliest! Please, please please don't start tomorrow - else my scans will clash with work!  :-[ I have had a few cramps, but not ones like I will start so here's hoping!

Also - I was quoted about £400 for my stimulation injections at the chemists - but have just bought mine using a home delivery service for £144 - wow - what a difference! The chemist also don't supply anything like the pen, sharps bins etc - the other delivery service supply it all! Smiling now!  ;D

Hows everyone else?

Sarah - brilliant news that you are finally starting on your cycle. Love the little ^excercise3^ icon!
Also, what a relief to get the drugs at such a saving - that really brings the cost down.

Eddie - hope that the side effects of the Clomid have worn off for you now. Have you already been for your first scan to check on progress, or will you be going early next week.

Hi to everyone else - I've still nothing to report, even on the house front. We are still waiting to exchange - they keep telling us it should happen the following day, but we really do think it might finally happen today. It would be a relief to get it sorted.

Hi all,
We are crawling towards  ^excercise3^ (ta Sarah!), the drugs are coming tomorrow and Edith should (by my precise calculations) start the pill on Monday.

Just wondering whether anyone can advise us about whether it is wise to have a holiday booked immediately after a possibly unsuccessful IVF attempt? With Edith being a teacher, we have to take hols in August, but are not sure whether we will feel like going on hols together if the IVF is unsuccessful. In the past when tx hasn't worked we have both felt very sore, and being with each other has made it all seem worse. Just wondering whether any of you could say that a holiday would have helped, or the opposite. It is so hard to imagine how we will feel if it doesn't work.

Good luck all  ^fairydust^

hya all

The central heating if finally finished so I have decided to postpone my nervous breakdown to a later date ;D

Nismat ~ I am under GP care so havn't arranged scan just peeing on my sticks and I have to have a 21 day (or 7 days after my surge) blood test to see how things are going. I should surge at some point next week and have taken the advice and am doing 2 pee tests a day instead on one. I might have to get shares in Acon ;D

Mable~ I dont think it matters where you are sweetie and if its your only chance for a holiday it would give you both something else to focus on xx :)

Good luck xxxx

OK, so it's not pregnancy news but......

we have FINALLY exchanged on the sale of our house, with completion next Friday!!

It's such a relief to have a date at last, and to be sure that we will have the money in the bank so to speak (actually it will be in our solicitor's bank account!) So we will be moving into the rented house next Thursday, and even if everything falls through for the purchase of the new house (we're waiting to hear when we can exchange/complete on that, but the house that they are buying appears not to be as chain-free as we were told initially), we can just look for something else, as cash buyers.
