Hello there, some help please or anyone in same boat?
Just had some more results back from the clinic. My AMH has come back less than 1 (they couldn't give exact figure) and FSH is 11, which the clinic has told me is really high and only option is IVF?? My partner is having reversal in a couple of weeks & we were going to try naturally for couple of months...has anyone been in same position, I'm devastated again...nurse told me I was hitting menopause and donor eggs could be only option. I'm 35 and have been in tears ever since? Is this right. ...thanks so much x

I also went through that awful thing recently with my AMH coming back as 1.4, feeling totally devastated and being advised that IVF was the only option. Have now been to a specialist and am going through the motions with them monitoring my cycle in the hope of being able to start treatment. My FSH came back very high at 18.7 and this felt very disheartening as they won't start treatment as this value.

Having never tried it before I am now a strong believer in acupuncture - it brought back my periods after I gave up hope and can help in so many other ways. Not sure if you've tried/would consider it but it can help reduce your FSH levels so this could be an option.
Keep your chin up - my first experience of feedback for a fertility appointment was very negative but I've since had a much more encouraging and positive experience

hi not sure what the AMH is but my FSH was 11 when i started my ivf cycle with Evie i remember feeling totally devastated

and really thought it hadnt worked but boy was i wrong 

i too am a big believer in acupuncture it can work well during your cycle    i think we get too worked up with all these different

tests and compare too much    i went on to have a natural pregnancy after my ivf cycle    so try not to worry too much

although i know its hard goodluck honey

No it's not necessarily right.  I have very similar numbers to you (and sometimes higher FSH, depends on the month as it fluctuates) and now I'm pregnant with my OE - so definitely don't give up.  Wishing you loads of luck  .  Reb xx

Reb is right (hi Reb )... your numbers do fluctuate month-to-month.  I've just had my AMH re-tested (it was 3.44 in April, and now is 6.06), and FSH does go up and down too.  It sounds like your nurse can do with going on an interpersonal skills course!  Have a think about whether you want to start tx at a clinic which sounds like it's given up on  you before you've started; it does nothing for the soul.  There are plenty of clinics who will treat low AMH and slightly higher FSH clinics, and there are plenty of success stories.

Gemini - my sister's AMH came back at 22 and she was given the menopause, DE speech too.  She changed clinic and her first IVF cycle resulted in 5 eggs, twins and 2 frosties.  Don't give up!

Hi,

I realise this is  a slightly old thread but only just saw it so thought i'd add my bit!

I had FSH 2 years ago that was suddenly 19.4 after always being 7, 6, 4, 12 etc. so i was saddened and a bit shocked. with Agnus castus and wheat grass it went back to 5.4 within 5 months. since then they have been a bit up and down but never above 12. so it just goes to show that is does fluctuate, and all is not lost. many docs now say that FSH just isn't enough on its own to judge by.

Having said that 3 years ago my AMH was a healthy 14.1  I then had an operation to remove endo and a fallopian tube and 3 years later its vastly less at below 4.  Operations for endo do often lose ovarian tissue in the process and so also lose eggs. however, with acupuncture i hope to get pregnant this next cycle. 

I would definately recommend agnus castus - its a wonder herb.
