I have been on Metformin due to my PCOS since last Novemebr and my gyny has asked me to have regular blood tests to check my liver....

the 1st in Dec was abnormal so was retested this week.

I have juse called for the results and was informed i must see the doctor...im presuming it was abnormal again! :-[

Does anyone know how it can affect your or your liver....im really worried now and have to wait til tuesday!

H,
sorry i cant help much, all i know is it can induce B vitamin insufficiencies that can lead to a form of anemia.

Try a search on here, and on google. There are alot of pcos sites out there, you may be able to find some more info

Metformin can have an effect on your liver function and that is why it should be regualrly tested. I had an normal reading once that did right itself ;)

Hope the dr can sort it out for you
