Hi everyone

I am new to this and was recommended the site by a friend, as she found it a great support, so here I am!

We have been trying for a baby for 13 months now, I have PCOS, but was told I should be able to fall pregnant naturally...I started seeing a naturopath to start with, so have been on a number of herbal mixtures  ::) over the last 6 months, but hasn't seen to have worked, I also tried a few sessions of accupuncture, but didn't feel much of a connection with the therapist and she didn't make me feel like it was going to help.
I used to have 45-50 day cycles, but with the clomid, they are down to around 33 days, which is fantastic, as the months are closer together to start trying!
Find every period so very upsetting, dread it every month and convince myself I might be PG, but instead it is a period coming! Grr!!! :(

So, I started Clomid and am currently on my 4th cycle with it, as it hasn't worked for the first 3 times.  I have also been recommended Metaforim (diabetes drug) by my GP as some studies have shown it helps with PCOS, so I have been taking that for 2 months too.

We have an appointment with the gyne in early Feb to start IVF, as he said to go back to him after 6 months of Clomid.  But my GP has said not to wait 6 months, as he said if it hasn't worked for the first few months, then it won't?!

Am feeling like I am the only person I know who hasn't got children, or is pregnant and I had my heart set on having babies without help, so just trying to get my head around having IVF, whether it will work etc.

So, it will be good to share it with some like-minded girls going through the same thing and learning more about it, or what else I may be able to do with PCOS that I have missed!

Sorry, I am not very good at these forums and don't know what acronyms I should be using for everything?!! Is there a guide?!

Hi Sienna - welcome, I hope you will get lots of support

I understand that lonely feeling of infertility - we're all in the same boat on here, which makes it much easier to write without having to explain.  No-one will tell you 'relax, it will happen', or any of those corny cliches that people who don't understand infertility will kindly say!

Its a bumpy ride but once you start the IVF journey, I personally found it more empowering and felt more in control than all those months of crying when your AF arrives.  You're doing everything you can to make this happen

Sending you lots of love and luck
