hi all

we are struggling to get our 4 and a half month old baby george to take his last bottle of the day (has it at 6.30ish before bed).  he takes ages over it and seems to get frustrated, pushing it away and sometimes arching his back and crying.  he's not like this with his bottles at other times.  he is teething so wondered if this could be an issue and it just bothers him more late in the day when he's tired, hence the difficulty with the bottle?  i'm sure it can't be that he's not hungry as he only has three 7oz bottles during the day (happy, settled baby on this amount).  any one else had this problem?  any ideas/suggestions?
thanks so much!

Have you tried a bigger teat? It could be that he's having to suck too hard and can't be bothered when he's tired! Also, have you started weaning? If you have then maybe he isn't hungry, if not then I agree that it shouldn't be that.

As you say it could be his teeth - you could always try putting some teething gel or powders on his gums just before his bottle.
