Hi, can you explain why if you make lots of eggs they leave them to blastocyst stage days5 before they put them inside, or like me you only make a few eggs and they prefer to put them in straight away day 2. Thanks does it mean they have a better chance if theyre day 5? Thanks

The theory is that if they have gone to blastocyst they are still progressng and have a really good chance. If you only have a few embryos, if you leave to blastocyst, you may not get any to put back and in this case it is better to put back into natural environment sooner than later. The embryologist where I am has got better stats with day 2/3 embryos than blastocysts and tries to encourage the consultant to put back earlier no matter how may embryos produced.
