Hi, after my 3rd MC last year i was referred to bishop Auckland hospital for testing what they did was a glucose tolerance test on myself, took some swabs to check for std`s and genetic testing on both myself and my husband everything came back clear and i was discharged from the consultants list
Ive just gone through my 4th MC with twins this time and I'm going to see my GP in a few days i want to be refereed to a recurrent MC specialist this time as i just feel they didn't take me very seriously at bishop I'm not from the north east so don't really know what hospitals consultants etc there are here .
i would be very grateful for any advice on either where to ask to be refereed to at the moment I'm thinking of Sheffield hospital as i know they have a specialist in recurrent MC but is there anywhere closer?
actually i don't care how far we have to travel i just want to know the best hospital were getting desperate we cant face loosing any more babies and also what specific tests should we be asking for? i already have 2 children from a previous relationship(d's 9 & dd 7) my husband has no children, i had difficult pregnancies with both. I began to loose amniotic fluid at around 7 months with my son and with my daughter i  began loosing it at around 5 months and spent the rest of my pregnancy in hospital
i hope someone can offer me some advice as i really don't know where to go from here
thanks mil x

Hi

sorry to hear about your mcs - I dont know if you have had any joy elsewhere on the boards but from my limited understanding so far (after 2 failed IVF txs) I am not aware of any clinic in the NE.  We have recently been to CARE at Nottingham who look into failed IVF / MCs etc via immunology testing - have a look on the boards which cover that side of things also maybe?  There will be a few girls on there who can help you I'm sure as I've had questions answered on there... I also have a book about it all by Dr Beer - PM if you would like more info.

Take care xx
