i had sedation on my last cycle in march + honestly i was lucid but did not feel a thing, they are very gentle + if you are worried in any way i would speak to them as they will be able to put your mind at rest, i wouldnt personally opt for GA its a little bit tough on your body for a procedure that really can be done without it  ;)

whatever you decide i hope all goes well + you will be fine  ^reiki^

I had GA for 2 EC (the Bridge) and IV sedation for 2 others (ARGC). To be honest they were all fine, IV sedation you come round quicker and go home sooner but you are knocked out just like a GA. I felt no pain with either and only remember coming round in the recovery areas, both clinics give you some analgesia and I had no pain. Good luck

Kings only give sedation. I am told that it will be unconfortable but the upside is you do ont remember it after. That will be me on Tuesday. Given a choice I would have gone GA.

Hi

I've had 2 of each and personally I prefer IV sedation. It's not that I don't like GA (I've had countless for ops for endo etc) but I always get really low blood pressure and have to have additional monitoring so just prefer sedation.

You shouldn't feel a thing with sedation...even if you do feel a slight twinge, you really don't remember anything immediately afterwards !

There is a poll on the Voting board which I think you'll find helpful...

but also, please do use the search option....your question has been asked quite a few times and it's always a good idea to use the search tool as you'll usually find lots of answers to your questions and concerns...

Here's just a few I found quickly but I know there's more if you take a look...

I am an absolute coward and find all internal exams painful and my HSG was torturous.  I had sedation for EC and it was ABSOLUTELY FINE...DIDN'T FEEL A THING!!!! GA is much harsher on your body and takes so much longer to recover from.
Hope this helps

I was in pain during my HSG & was really worried about having EC under sedation. When we went back for ET 3 days later, I said the the nurse, "I'm really sad I fell asleep at EC, I wanted to watch the procedure on the screen." She replied, "You did watch it... you cheered each time we got another egg!". So there you go, obviously the amnaesia drug did it's trick & I was in no pain!
