I am due to start IUI in two weeks and feel very apprehensive but excited at the same time.  We have been TTC for 3 years and have followed many alternative routes before deciding on IUI.  I have had an HSG and it was clear.  What I am unsure of is if we are unexplained and I have a regular 26 cycle, why am I being asked to take Clomid, I though it was primarily used for those with irregular cycles.  Will it overactivate my ovaries?

i am not a sure but having been taking clomid for 5 months now combined with IUI as i dont ovulate on my own, however i do have regulqr periods which mystified the doctors!

I think clomid will just give that added extra to ensure you do ovulate to give you a better chance.

The clomid will hopefully just stimulate your body a little bit so that maybe more than one follicle develops to give you a better chance of pregnancy.
