Hi all, just an introduction to us.

We are Paul (42) and Helen (32) and we live near Swansea and we are looking forward to understanding experiences from those in a similar sitaution to help us through difficult and new situation at the beginning of our journey to parenthood.

Paul has had 2 children already from a failed marriage (a son 13 and a daughter 10) and he had a vasectomy approx 10 years ago. Helen has never had any children though we are both deeply in love and want to share this love with another child.

We have visited CMRW in wales and advised that Paul's sperm would not be of a good enough quality to produce a child if either he had a vasectomy reversal or Surgical Sperm Retrieval. We are now looking at Sperm Donation however there are lots of emotions and decisions to consider with this approach and we are hoping for some advice from the Fertility Friends community with this.

Thanks for reading this and we look forward to speaking to you all soon

Hi and welcome to FF-

Someone will along soon to give you a guide to the site,

Just wanted to say hello and also ask why they thought sperm would not be good enough bearing in mind you already have two children, I would want to get a second opinion on that, vasectomy reversal might not work but surgical sperm retrieval only needs to get a few sperm in order to do ICSI- my husband is paralysed and they retireved enough sperm to do ICSI and it was successful,

Good luck with your journey,

Livity K

A Rough Guide To IVF ~CLICK HERE

(This is a breakdown of the procedure of IVF which is the same as ICSI up until the point of fertilization, With ICSI the embryologist injects one good sperm into one good egg, and repeats until all are used. So it gives them a helping hand, with IVF the eggs and sperm are left to fertilize by themselves)
