Hi there

My dh and I have been having this discussion all weekend -  how many eggs are released from an individual follicle?

ie if you have one follicle of around 17/18mm does it just contain one egg?

We've been told that just because you have a mature follicle there won't neccessarily be an egg inside it - but if there are can there be more than one?

each mature follie can contain one egg only but no more than that.  It may not contain an egg at all.  Of course even only having one egg can still means twins if it divides once fertilised. xx
