Hi Ladies

I have a question about TNF levels, which I am hoping someone might know the answer to...
About 19 months ago in London I discovered my TNFalpha level was at 42 - so high...
I have now moved to a clinic in Germany and asked them to retest. It came back as 1.9 (with then saying under 8 ok) but I am worried that they might be measuring a different TNF as the paperwork from the lab says TNF i.S...

Please does anyone know about this?  My current clinic are not worried but I am not sure?

Thanks a lot and good luck to you all xxx  ^reiki^ ^reiki^ ^hugme^

Good luck with your new clinic  ^reiki^

the lab that most of us use here, RFU tends to measure the ratio between TNFa to IL10 - it sounds like your result of 42 was that ratio.  but its also possible to measure the absolute concentration of TNFa instead - maybe that's what your second result is?  the ratio is used more often because its actually quite difficult to measure the absolute concentration accurately.
