Shilu - so great to here all is well. Wow 23 weeks superb. I've been thinking about you.  How you feeling? I remember at this stage I was desperate for 30 weeks to arrive as in my head that was the critical point.
We are doing well. Our baby is growing so well and changing every day. No one can believe she was two months early. She's so chubby. I'm really enjoying being a mum however getting her to sleep is a nightmare.

Hi Demex, we didn't have sperm issues but I am nearly 40 with egg issues. I tried with own eggs a few times and failed. Looking back I wished I went ahead with donor egg earlier. It was the best decision we made. Our baby feels 100% ours.

Nearly 25 weeks now and all fine. Still not in maternity wear so quite relieved. A lot of kicking and movement so finally feel pregnant and not so paranoid.
So glad to hear your little girl is doing fine.

Dear Demex,

I am 46 and like Jasminetea I am so glad I went down the donor egg route, no regrets. My husband and I did try with my own eggs but when you are given facts like only 5% chance of it working with own eggs as opposed to 65-70% with donor, it is a no brainer, however we still wanted to make sure we had given own eggs every chance.

Many thanks for your messages ladies & congratulations on your pregnancies & babies! We're in the process of having a few tests done to check if any chromosome/genetic issues and then take it from there. We also want to ensure that we have done everything we can before we start thinking for other options except if own sperm & eggs. I could have also stayed in England if it was for donor egg/sperm I guess. 2-3 weeks still and we'll know what our options are going forward.

Hello Lovely Ladies,

I'm new to this forum and very happy to find it. It feels good sharing IVF experience which only those strong women like us can genuinely understand.

I'm also with Barcelona IVF and have done my ED Fresh cycle but sadly it's a BFN (Grade 2AA). I have frozen embies w/ Grading of 1AA and 2AB (blastocyst stage).

Is there anyone of you who had a success with 1AA blast?
When did you fly home after the ET?

Hi Hopefulmomzzz27,

Yes I am pregnant at 29 weeks with 1AA blast, I actually had 2 transferred but lost one twin at 8 weeks.

However, the rest of my pregnancy has run smoothly.

The embryologist did say that although they always choose the best grade for transfer, they do get pregnancy success stories with others as it is more to do with gene normalities and not just the grade.

I feel so sad when I got BFN. It's something we least expected. I was over the moon on the day of the transfer and was so positive, only to be disapppointed on the test day.

Happy Sunday all!
1st day of testogel started last night. DH is flying to Barcelona on Tuesday to collect medication for me and by then we should know when we're flying out there.
We're thinking to even have the day 12 scan there instead of the U.K. Anyone else did that? Also thinking to buy one way tickets and return once we see have the treatment is going... will be own eggs.
Any recommendations for hotels or apartments in Barcelona?
Sorry for all my questions; I appreciate many of you have more experience with treamtnet in Barcelona, so any recommendations are more than welcome xx

Sorry to revive this old thread... however, I have one question about Barcelona IVF.

On the costing sheet I was sent, it says that the DE cost includes:

Donor: Therapeutic plan, ovarian stimulation, follicular controls and gynaecological examinations. Egg retrieval in the operating theatre (operating theatre, procedure, anaesthesia, nursing and laboratory). Subsequent controls of the donor.
Recipient: Endometrial preparation, treatment coordination, embryo transfer and monitoring of early pregnancy.

However, in the 'remarks' section, it says this:
Donor medication if it cannot be provided by the patient: €1.000

Does it mean that 'ovarian stimulation' does not include the medication?

Me and my partner is planing egg donation treatment at Barcelona IVF. This is a new experience for us and our first egg donation treatment. We have never tried IFV becuause my FSH och AMH was bad. We would really like to get in contact with anyone who has or is planning treatment at Barcelona IVF.

I hope you don’t mind me joining.
I’ve just had my first FET at Barcelona IVF which was unsuccessful and I’m interested to hear if people have gone on to have a successful cycle here after having a failed one?
If I’m honest, I’m a little disappointed at the age of my donors and think I’d pinned a little too much hope on this cycle as I thought it would be much easier having removed my eggs from the equation.
Interested to hear how people are getting on.

Hi LM17!

Sorry it didn't work out. I think this is very much down to luck. We've had two OEIVF that failed. The reason we moved on is because I don't produce many eggs.

If you look at the cost of pregnancy guarantee schemes at IVF clinics everywhere, they normally come to about 2.5 times a single go. They don't just pick that number out of nowhere. That tells me that clinics have calculated that the average success rate to get pregnant is around 3 full cycles. Some people get pregnant earlier, others later.
