Hi Shelley,

We have the same prob and I know how frustrating it is. My dh had a cyst on his right side which he had a scan for about two yeras ago. They said it wasn't cancer so off you go. This was before ttc. It did cause him some pain but the drs kept dismissing it.

Anyway after ttc for 15 months we wnt for some tests. I'm all ok but his sa came back with a low count and poor motility. My dh mentioned the cyst to the specialist so he was sent for another scan. They finally discoverd it was blocking his left tube which has then caused these varicose veins.

The consultant explained that they could operate but evidence has shown that it probably won't improve his count etc.

However after reading quite a few posts on other websites it seems that the surgery is quite successful. We are off to get a second opinion. Should we see a urologist or a vascular surgeon??

If this had been discovered at the first scan we would not have had the 15 months of heartache.

Good Luck with it all

let me know how it goes and message me if you have any other tips or questions.

Louise :) :)

thanks Allison.

Congratulations on your BFP ;D

I have just made an appointment for dh to see a urologist before we go to the ivf clinic. I feel as if I'm the dr sometimes with all the questions i ask!!

I hope we have the same outcome.

There is one other prob which may been syrgery may not improve his count and that is the blockage in the vas def tube on the right side. He didn't say it was a total block but it is causing some swelling. The dr said its a bit like a vasectomy except a natural one!! at least vasectomy reversals have good results.

Anyway at least we are heading in the right direction finally.

Shelley hope you get your BFP soon xx

Allison have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Louise xx
