Hi, I have just have my 6 week scan and seen a heartbeat thank goodness.  However, my clinic has advised me to now stop using cyclogest.  I have been taking 2 x 200mg per day.  Has anyone else stopped taking their progesterone support so soon??  My previous clinic advises to take it up to 12 weeks.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Swoo x

Congratulations on your  ^BFP^ and seeing your bubba's heartbeat.
My clinic keep us on progesterone support till 12 weeks.  There's no harm in staying on cyclogest if you would prefer it - I'm sure your clinic would understand if you told them.

i would say take it until 12 weeks. The placenta doesn't fully take over progesterone support until some time around 9-12 weeks.
I had extra tabs so ended up taking it until 14 weeks. (was a bit paranoid after two miscarriages!)
congrats on your pregnancy.

I took it on and off for 12 weeks, but i know some clinics stop it at the end of the 2ww regardless of the outcome.  however, if it helps stop you worrying, i wouldn't worry about taking it.

Thanks for all your good wishes and advice.  I think I will feel better if I continue to take it - even 1 per day, so think I will until 12 weeks just to be on the safe side.

That sounds like a fine plan!
