Hello all,

We have just heard that my hubby has antisperm antibodies - although we are not sure what % but they said high. Does anyone know if you can get pregnant with antisperm antibodies without having fertility treatment? Any good news stories.

THanks
Marie

Hi there,

I am no expert on the matter but we have the same problem. My dh has antisperm antibodies (90%) and we have been told that we have no other option than go straight to ivf with icsi. However the consultant did say we could just continue trying without help if we didn't want to which I didn't really understand as he told us we would never be able to get pregnant naturally with such high levels. Do you know what % you have?

Hope you get better news than we did.

Hi ladies,

My dh has ASAs too and we did in fact get pregnant naturally about 6 months after starting ttc.  Unfortunately, I miscarried and we subsequently found I had immune probs too BUT it can be done!

Best of luck to you,

Katz

Hi,

My DH has ASA after having a vasectomy reversal.  My doc said we had zero chance of a natural pg, but its nice to hear that it CAN actually happen, even though i know it would have to be a miracle, it keeps the hope alive slightly.  We've just had 1 cycle of IVF with ICSI that resulted in a BFN with no frozen, Currently preparing for round 2 but it will be our very last chance.  We can't afford this one let alone any more after that.

Ah well, we'll see what happens,
Good luck to you all,

Hello ladies

THank you all so much for your responses, you are right Jooby its so nice to hear of a postive BFP without treatment. We dont; know what percentage DH is yet - we find out at our next clinic appointment in June. We are having one go at ICSI maybe two but its so expensive that will be it for us.

Lets hope and pray for a miracle, either way naturally or through ICSI.
Thanks again for the repsonses ladies - its good to hear we are not alone.

Hi Marie,
My husband has ASA at a level of 100%. we were told we had less than 1% chance of conceiving naturally and we have been trying to concieve for 3 years nearly and still nothing. We had 1 cycle of ICSI last November and all three of my eggs fertilised so they can definitly overcome the problem but unfortunatly the cycle ended sadly with a biochemical pregnancy. We are hopeful for the future and are currently trying to fight the local government to fund another cycle as we ares upposed to get three cycles but our local gov only fund 1 cycle. Theres no way we could afford to fund it ourselves but one day we will get there.
If you ever need to talk I am here, I know exactly how frustrating the whole Antisperm Antibodies situation is as they dont really tell you what it is or any other way of solving the problem. We had to research everything ourselves. It is a constant struggle to stay smiling each day but I keep telling myself at least weve got each other.
Keep me updated on how your journey goes and I wish you all the best.
