I too have a bicorunate/septate uterus but have had some corrective surgery to the septum, to cut it back a little.

I've not successfully carried a baby to term as had several early miscarriages, however I've never been told that I can only have one embryo put back because of my womb shape.

If you use the search facility you'll see there are several posts/threads discussing bicornuate/septate uterus and there have been quite a few ladies who have had successful and healthy pregnancies.

Hoping you read this post as I only just saw the post.

I just wanted to reassure you my sister has a bicornuate uterus and had a lovely baby boy.

She read up on all the risks when she found out after getting pregnant and felt panicked. But she had a lovely big baby boy called Arran (my now two year old nephew) only two weeks early. The birth went fine (I was there) but what she did get was bleeding pretty much monthly throughout her pregnancy which as you can imagine freaked her out. At one point she was bleeding quite heavily and I and her partner were at A&E and the doctor there told her she had miscarried but to come back the next day for a scan to see if she needed a D&C etc. (Hillingdon Hospital A&E). Devastated as you can imagine she bought a pack of cigarrettes and smoked the lot (after having stopped for the pg) and was about to drink a bottle of wine too but I persuaded her to wait until after the scan. Then the next morning at her scan the said 'the baby is fine I can see the heartbeat clearly!

So based on my sis's experience I'd say it was always worrying but she did carry full term and have a lovely baby. She has even offered to be a surrogate mother for me if I hit a block on the carrying full-term with ICSI so she must still feel positive despite the bicornuate womb.

I also have a bicornuate uterus and as you can see am now 20 weeks pregnant. I had 2 embies transferred both IVF cycles so not sure why you have been told you can only have 1 put back next time??

I also had an early miscarriage after my first IVF but no one ever suggested the shape of my uterus caused it , so don't be disheartened, having a bicornuate uterus shouldn't prevent you from successfully carrying a child.

I have a bicornuate uterus and have had two twin pregnancies.  I have never been told it is a problem (although I know there are different degrees of the condition) and it hasn't been named as the cause of my previous premature labour.

I too have a Bicornuate uterus which is not quite split all the way down. I have had 2 m/c but i have been lucky and carried my DS, He was born at 35+5 days. The only thing was that because of the bicornuate uterus my DS got stuck in the breech position at 27 weeks which is early but all it meant was a c-section.

Dont give up hope, i am sure you wil be fine.

I have a bicornuate/septated uterus and I carried my ds to 37 weeks. I didn't even know I had this until I had investigations whilst ttc the 2nd time around. I did have quite a difficult pregnancy though and was leaking amnitotic fluid from about 32 weeks after having a show and starting to have contractions at 31 weeks. I think it was because my womb couldn't really stretch much more (I don't think my skin could either, I was as big as a house!). My son was a big baby though and weighed 9lbs and he was born with positional talipes ( feet turning in) because he had no room to move. But he is fit and well now and the positional tallipes corrected itself with the help of some physio. I did have a few complications after the birth too, I had a post parm haemorage, the docs think this was because my womb was so overstretched.

My consultant knows about my uterus and he has never said anything about only putting one embrio back. It maybe because I carried one baby to term.

Just wanted to let you know that there is hope.
