Katy, no you haven't done any damage!  The doctor was right - and frankly i'm amazed the clinic sent you to a&e!

There are some drugs (clexane for one, which i know quite a lot of girls are on) actually intentionally has about 1/2 inch of air in as it helps the body absorb the drug.

The worst that will happen is you might get a bruise!

It's such a shame they made you panic and gave you a 2 hour wait in a&e - grr!  Try not to worry hun, all will be fine. (it takes about 10ml of air into a vein to be anything to panic about.)

Thank you so much for your reply.  Has helped put my mind at ease. I need to stop reading these internet sites that convince you you've got everything under the sun!  The amount I injected was 1.5ml, I'm sure I will be fine.

Katy, I can't believe they sent you to A and E? as Sally said you risk absolutely nothing. Even the amount you had , if it was in a vein not sure it would have done that much!
As yours is just in flesh, no probs at all. As Sally also said , the trigger shot for example, has an air pocket which you need to inject otherwise you lose some of the liquid if you try to get rid of it and it is there in firstplace to make injection easier as it is a thick gel.You should complain to your clinic actually.
Anyway, the main thing is you are reassured. good luck!

On my last cycle i injected some air too, about 3 of my DR drugs were complete air!!! i just didnt realise, i am of course extremely careful now
i was so worried like you, but a nurse friend assured me that you have to inject air into a vein, and would need to be a fair bit more than what i had injected
like the others i cant believe your clinic made you go to A&E
they have made you worry for absolutely nothing

When i did my nurse training, i was told htat it would have to be almost an entire line (i.e. the plastic tube from your arm to a bottle of iv fluid) full of air going into a vein to risk causing any damage!  I accidentally managed to run almost half a line into someone when i was setting up an iv when i was a very junior and inexperienced nurse, and she was fine!! (thank god!!)

Try not to worry hun, I'm sure as the ladies have said you'll be fine!   I don't even do my own jabs I'm a big wuss DH has to do them, but I'm sure it's an easy mistake to make, there's such a lot to think about afterall!
