Thanks for doing the list Fee, it looks fab. Hurrah, I'm getting notifications again One thing to let you know. Loupina's tx was abandoned due to poor response.

Just got back from my scan. Only 4 follies despite the increased dosage of Gonal F this time. I'm hoping I'll have a few more by Sunday when my next scan is. The same thing happened last time but I did end up with 8 follies eventually, so fingers crossed it will go the same way this time.

Pomme, hope your ET goes ok today.

Hiya Everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted for a while but we've been decorating and my beloved computer has been out of action.

Sorry no personals today just a quick post to let you know I had my egg collection on Monday 14th and had 20 eggs.  10 went to the recipient and we kept 10.  Out of the 10, 9 fertilized.  However, when we went back to the clinic today for egg transfer only 2 eggs were developing.  The two embryos have been transfered!!   ^2fertilized^

Hi All,

Went for ET today but was cancelled  as they didn't think I was well enough. They did a scan and I was borderline for Hyperstimmulation. My ovaries are stilll quite swollen. That was without me yelping when they examined my tummy Considered taking painkillers before going today so that I wouldn't be so sore when they examined me but didn't want embies to go into a druggy environment I'm still hobbling but was trying to walk as best I could but I don't think I can pretend enough 

I have to go back tomorrow to be examined to see if I'm a bit better. If so they'll consider a day 3 transfer. We have 6 grade 2 4 cell embies and 1 grade 3 4 cell embie. Around 40 % could perish between now and tomorrow and day 3 embies have less chance of making the defrost than day 2 

The only good thing is that if it goes ahead tomorrow then there is a 40% chance of BFP with the day 3 embies. If it doesn't go ahead tomorrow though I'm worried that we might not get anything from this cycle as we will lose some overnight and then any frozen will be less likely to make the defrost. Arrgh! I really hope that I'm well enough tomorrow   

I've not really been eating much protein the past few days as have been feeling quite nauseous. I was before EC to try to keep OHSS at bay. Should I restart this again? Should I be drinking loads again? Does anyone know? The clinic didn't give me any advice about this.

I hope everyone elses ETs and scans went well.

Hi Pomme

Huge hugs for you hun - awful to have that build up and want to be with your embies, and for it not to happen. But things happen for a reason - and the reason is you'll have more idea tomorrow which the super strong embies are, and these are the ones that will be put back with Mummy.
I just had two embies make a defrost that were frozen on day 6 - so believe it can happen. Blastocycsts are the future and some clinics will only use day 5 or 6 embies now, specially in the States.
It is true that fewer embies will make it to day 3 or beyond. But the ones that will perish are those that would not have made a viable pregancy. When you are paying for your txt I think it good to have this, although painful, as you would hate to pay out thousands and have 2 put back that would not make it.
I wonder ifyou could post to Ruth about this in ASK A NURSE. Hopefully she could get back to you by the boards first thing before you have to go to the clinic.

SO sorry you are so sore too. Keep drinking the cranberry juice and lots of girls get pg with OHSS so heaps of luck to you sweetheart

Well quick update, been for another scan and my follies have mushroomed They reakon i will get between 8 and 10 ranging from 23 - 18 EC is deffinatly going ahead on fri! HCG injection tonight and better still LAST SNIFF tonight WAHOO

Still confused..?? Clinic have just called and i had a BFP.but only with a level of 26.6  Any pg should be over 25 but they think that the level is so low and the bleeding so bad that i was pg and am now miscarrying .
I have to go back for a retest on Friday but the clinic has said to assume the worst.

Sicknote hun, I'm so sorry about your news.  It is horrible to get that good news, then followed immediately by bad - we got a BFP last time, then I started bleeding the next day - it feels like hope is there, then taken away.  The one positive I came away with was knowing that I could get pg, and maybe next time will be for longer.

Huge  , let us know what friday brings.

Thanks Fee - Just feel so gutted to have to come away from them again. I know it sounds silly to everyone else but they're my embies and I want to be with them. I can't see my tummy being any smaller by tomorrow unless I find a really good laxitive. I've gained an inch in girth since EC. Any ideas? Thanks for the positive thoughts. I really, really hope that things will go ahead tomorrow.

Hi All,
Pomme, so sorry to hear your ET had to  be postponed it is agonising waiting to get them back on board I totally understand as I had to wait until day 5 , albeit for good reasons (progressed to blasts). Hope you are feeling better soon.

My ET yesterday was rather stressful to tell you the truth. I wish I had been out for the count. The nurse couldn't get the catheter into the neck of the cervix or wherever it is supposed to be so I was really uncomfortable... they were all lovely and kept telling me to relax which is easier said than done with you kness in stirrups and a thingimebob widening your bits    she said she may have to get the doctor to put a cervical clamp on me    well my body must have decided that was a worse option than relaxing a bit, and finally she got in. The embryologist said it was like trying to put an earring in, sometimes you can't find the back hole !!  Interesting analogy... but true I guess.
Finally Morris and Millie (my two strongest maltesers ) were released into the great abyss. Then the paniking started:
1) What happens if they didn't come out in the right place?
2) Does the difficult transfer mean bad chance or, as is more likely just my tilted uterus causing probs.
3) Shall I lay in bed or not
4) ..... as you can imagine the list goes on.
Hey ho trying to think      and not end up in the loony bin    
Anyway off to check on the grey hairs that seem to be rapidly developing !!!

Ive been told that I have 5 4 cell embies and 3 3cell embies..hope they dont deteriorate before tomorrow.  If I had my EC on 14th, the 17th is a 3day transfer isnt it?? Why wasnt i given the choice of a 2 day
wierd...if they die I wont be happy.  Is 3 day worse??

Hi girls

Firstly - Sicknote, I feel terrible that I put you down as a BFN and doing FET in March - when in fact you are BFP. I checked back and I picked up a post from you on Frozen Transfer boards that said you were bleeding and going again in March. Hence the confusion. But in my book to have had the bleeding you've had and still have good levels that indicate a pg is a good sign, so I've moved you to the mums to be end of our list. A postive deserves a little and I know heaps of girls who've bled and gone on to have healthy babies (Mel for one!). I really hope this all works out for you.

Purpleal - read somewhere on the boards that you have your embies on board, but that Angus's father died the same day. I'm so very sorry hun xxx what a terrible shock for you both. Do take care of yourself

Me, bit fed up today. Hate the second week. Only cheered by a new heated towel rail in my bathroom and 2 episodes of 24. Kiefer always lifts my mood.

Couple of quick personals
Sicknote, like Ali , I had the same as you last time, BFP then bleed next day. Sadly for me it was biochemical pg, and that's really rough. However Your HCG levels are better than mine were so don't give up hope just yet. I have a friend who has bled every time she's been pg, and the hospital told me when I started bleeding they have plenty of examples of people who have assumed they weren't even pg and never did the test, as they had such a heavy AF and they still got BFP........ it's miserable waiting with no clear result like that, I really feel for you. Here's a hug

Pomme, yes you should get straight back on whatever protein you can stomach and as much water as you can drink. I know I go on about this, but clinics seem to be woefully inadequate at advising people how to avoid OHSS and then (like me) they get it without even realising they could have done anything to avoid it.
Anyway OHSS is a risk all the way through, and protein and a good supply of water is good for cell development if you get those embies back in you anyway, so keep going til you test. Also try to pee out the hormones as often as you can! If you don't really feel like solids, either drink milk or soya milk which are both quite high in protein and will keep your fluids up at the same time. Could you manage a boiled egg or something? Or cheese on toast? That would be good too. really hope you get your ET.

Claire L, ouch! That speculum is horrible. Was it really a nurse doing your ET? I'm amazed, I always get a gynae. All over now, welcome to 2 weeks of total insanity.

Welcome everyone else who made it to 2ww today. By the way you may have noticed I haven't left this board to go to ladies in waiting, I always find it too nervewracking on there! I'm staying here......

Hi girls,

as you can see from the time I can't sleep... had EC today and they only got 3 eggs and I am patiently waiting for the call tomorrow so that I know if they have fertilised.  AS DH has low sperm, the +ve thing is that the embryologist now only has to find 3 healthy sperm to fertlise the eggs... so I'm still keeping hope that ET will be on Friday.

Pomme I am praying for you that you'll b able to proceed to ET,  and I sympathise with you as my stomach is also very swollen and I am trying to pee regularly anddrink lots of fluids.  Thanks for the advice ceedubya as I think that tomorrow it'll be boiled eggs and milk for me.

I agree that the clinics are woefully lax in advising you on what you should do and what you should eat to try and maximise success.... thank God for FF as I don't know where I'd be.

Hope that anyone who is doing ET today or EC today are keeping their peckers up..... and I'm thinking of all my cycle buddies as we embark on this road together.

Hi everyone,

I had my ET today.  They put back two Grade 2 embryos which had reached 8 cells.  The other six have apparently slowed down but they are keeping an eye on them incase they divide otherwise no frozen ones.

So Im on my 2ww.

Its wierd that they dont let you lie down afterwards...but Im making sure that I do that now. I also have mild OHSS, and so was surprised that ET went ahead, boy am I in pain.

Good luck everyone, you dont know how relieved I am to have got this far and I hope that everyone else at least gets this far too!!
