Hi there,

Wondered if you could give me some advice. I am currently 20 weeks and yesterday I woke to some very light cramping. It really didn't bother me to much however it continued thoughout the day. In bed last night I realised I was having a Braxton Hick as my uterus tightened for a short while. This was not painful at all. I was also woken in the middle of the night with another again not painful.
This morning I woke fine however the mild cramping is creeping back. I am due my 20 week routine u/s tomorrow is there anything I can mention to them so they could maybe look for signs of anything untoward! I am currently high risk due to 3 m/c in the past and currently doing immune treatment. I am also drinking 2 litres of water a day so I know I am hydrated also I know bubs is OK as she is still kicking.

Thanks in advance!

Hi pink or blue

I would mention to the staff when you attend for your scan. You may only be down to have a scan not see a midwife or dr. But ask to have a quick word with the midwife. The braxton hicks are nit concerning and can start as early as six weeks but we don't feel them early.

However if the cramping continues that needs to be checked out. Do you suffer with IBS or anything like that?

No IBS that I know of! I do have stage 3 Endo. Can this result in more cramping throughout pregnancy?
I have made a midwife app tomor before my u/s so will discuss this with her!
Will she do a cervix check do you think or can I get my cervix length checked at the u/s?

I am just so worried about PTL due to surgery and a previous d&c that I have had!

The midwife definately won't check. We not allowed to examine you internally before 37wks. Cervix length can be checked on scan but usually only on ladies with history of losses or prem labour. It would have to be requested by a doctor.

Your endo could be causing it if it's left you with some scar tissue internally.
