You poor thing - piles can be agony.

black stools can indicate old blood - so if your piles are internal and bleeding, which is highly possible when you are pg, then that could be why.  however, I would always recommend checking this out with your gp - you can't be too careful, particularly with bubs on board.

Caz, sorry to hear that you are suffering from piles.

I suffered really badly with them in my pregnancy and ended up having surgery twice during my pregnancy - depends how painful they are....I was crying in agony though - couldn't sit or anything.  Was told because I was pregnant though the piles would come back...they did after first surgery, but didn't after 2nd so was able to enjoy the last few weeks of my pregnancy more.  I hope yours aren't that bad.

As for the colour of your stools - another cause could be if you are eating a lot of iron rich foods, that would have the same effect as iron tablets.  I would go to the doctor though and ask their opinion.  I hope your piles sort themselves out.
