Hi

Welcome Ashjee and congrats on your twinnies turning one.

I've never used amber necklaces. However, a couple of mums at my toddlers group use them and swear by them.

I use Anbesol liquid - it immediately numbs the gum. It's suitable from birth. I use Dentinox occasionally but it's not nearly as effective.
I also believe Calprofen/Ibuprofen is best for teething.
I give mine a Teetha powder at bedtime - they like them but I'm not convinced they do much good.
Sorry to butt in!
Xxxx

Hello and welcome to the newbies and belated happy birthday to Nequila's twin. It's a significant milestone to get to their 1 st birthday!

I just used calpol when they are teething. A friend of mine uses Amber necklaces but she isn't sure if they truly work. Also, I thought you had to take them off at night e.g. Safety reasons so they wouldn't really help at the times when my two really need them or am I wrong?

Well we went to a shopping centre today and had a lovely time till we realise my DD has lost her shoe. We retraced our steps but no luck. Luckily, they were just her sandals from M & S and not her 'proper' shoes. Will phone tomorrow so fingers crossed :)

Off to stay with my mum tomorrow so won't be on here for a week. Hope you all have a lovely week x

Evening ladies,
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend inbetween thunder storms. Our weekend was ok. Both had injections on thursday and made J really ill. Kept getting really bad temps. Didnt affect Christopher at all. Drs annoyed me though when i rang for advice on Friday to cause James temp was 39.5, all he could say was we dont really bother if they get a temp but you can give him some calpol if you want! well hello im a nurse and i know temps above 40 are not good and that was getting too close for my likings. Just sat relaxing now with a glass of the red stuff after major tamtrums going to bed.

Thankyou to those of you who gave me advice on sleeping last week. I think they must have heard me talking bout it and have both only got up once for the last 3 nights and have slept in till 8. I dont know what to do with all this sleep.

Ive never heard of these amber neckless things your all talking about. Do they do them for boys? although my two seem fine with nelsons teetha and calpol. Use a little bongella for instant relief but doesnt last long.

Spring chick - The boys got those little life back packs for their birthday (the turtle ones) they are so cute and as you say makes them look so grown up. I watched the sextuplets programme and cried too. Brought back memories for me that i wish never to go through again. Luckily both mine survived and seem to have no lasting affects.

Talking of that i found my diary from when they were in special care the other day. Sat there blubbing reading it.

DH watching the F1 from this aft and im desperate to tell him what happened as ive already seen it. Think i may just go to bed and wait for the next tantrum to commence.

Night night

Hello again

Just wondered what you dress your twins in, during the summer months, to go to bed?

Thank you

Love SS and boys xx

SS - that is funny you ask that cos i have been wondering the same thing, at moment mine are in pj's with no vest and 1 tog sleeping bag, if room goes over 24 i just leave the sleeping bag off!!

Mine are in short-sleeve, no leg body suits and no sheets or bags - it is 35 degrees here and we are sweltering!   We have just got back from a few weeks at the seaside - both twins had UV protection suits and factor 50 on. DS2 is still as white as ever and DD is as brown as a nut! You can tell who got the Italian genes and who got the British ones.... ::)

Hey ss. We've just been putting the boys in pjs no vests. They have duvets just been leaving them off if it's too warm in their room. Hard to know isn't it. Same during the day with the silly bristish weather.

Hi guys,

Thank you all very much for replying to my post :) . After reading up a little bit about it I have ordered to amber anklets - anything natural is worth a try in my books; I really don't like having to resort to calpol all the time. Will report back on whether they'll do the trick.

Mine are in long sleeved jim jams without any vests and in 1 tog bags but they both have bad colds - well that's my excuse, at the end of the day I really don't know and I figure as long as they're not feeling sweaty to the touch it'll be ok. They were just in short sleeved vests with 1 tog bags when it was really warm the other night though... I just seem to go with what seems right at the time  ^idiot^ .

Take care everybody! xx

Elles - good luck with amber.

I've just made a huge batch of chicken, broccoli and pasta in 3 cheese sauce  :)  I misread the recipe and added far too much gruyere cheese  :-[  It tastes bitter and horrible  ;D  Any tips on how to rescue it????

Thank you.

p.s. Thanks for info on bedwear.

Is it chunky with the sauce mixed in?
