Hello Everyone,
So I guess my story begins here…
I’ve been with my partner for just over 3 years, and for 6 months of those we’ve been TTC with no success. I’m a natural worrier so was keen to have some fertility tests. I made an appointment at The Bridge Centre a subsidiary of The London Women’s Clinic on Harley Street and within a week we had our answers. My results came back as average and what would be expected for my age-32, however with my partner (31) his analysis came back as abnormal, low sperm concentration and motility, as the consultant spoke I could see my partner’s world literally shattering around him, he’s a little better now, it’s not even been 2 weeks since we found out.
Our treatment option is- ICSI, so I’m reaching out for people’s experiences and stories. We’re hoping to have treatment at Guys Hospital- Private, my first question is if anyone has had any experience of the clinic, good or bad, it was a toss-up between there and The London Women’s Clinic- Harley Street.
I’m so nervous and we haven’t even begun, it’s all I can think about! We can start a week today however may hold off for another month, to allow our heads to get around the situation. We’ve been referred by a friend who has recently conceived through IVF via a donor to an acupuncturist who has given us some herbs and I’ll begin acupuncture soon, if anyone has any guidance of this then I’d be grateful. It would be nice to give it at least month for the herbs to settle.
I guess what I’m most worried about is the number of egg collected, how many will fertilise and then make it to blastocyst- terrified- and will there be any left encase it doesn’t worst time !!! I wish I could switch my brain off for a bit- It’s the uncertainty which I know many of you will have experienced- How did you all do it! -You’re amazing all of you
Thank you in advice for your help and guidance.
Hayley
